About Jalin Resort

The Caribbean is unlike anywhere else in the world, and its world-renowned resorts are no exception. Jalin Resort creates co- ordinated collections of ready-to-wear uniforms, as well as purely bespoke uniform collections with the specific needs of the Caribbean in mind. Every detail is considered to ensure that our modern and lightweight uniforms prioritize the wearer, and elevate the establishment that they represent.

Active members of the CHTA (Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association) our designs are streamlined and elegant, often incorporating vibrant color and custom digital prints – a bold contrast to the uninspired uniforms of most existing suppliers. A diverse range of body shapes and sizes were considered during the design process, which seeks to flatter the form and optimize function. Performance fabrics are used to cool the wearer in warm weather, whilst UV resistant dyes and specifically chosen fabrics are designed to withstand the Caribbean’s hard water and intense sunshine, making the uniforms easier to maintain for longer.

Initially invited by Sandy Lane to design and produce a customized range of uniforms across the resort, this soon led to creating customized uniforms for Grace Bay, The Palms, Peter Island, Coral Reef and Glossy Bay Marina. We continue to offer a bespoke service for hotels, as well as this range of ready-to-order lines that act as a building block to creating a hotel’s uniform, allowing clients to choose between a wide variety of colors, embroideries and prints. Jalin Resort reflects the modern sophistication of the Caribbean, elevating its wearers to brand ambassadors.

Excited to announce our partnership with The Forbes Travel Guide as The Official Uniform Provider for 2017.

THE STORY

When Jason Lurie and Lindy Kursten founded Jalin Design a decade ago, they would soon become the go-to firm for tailor-made uniforms for several of the world’s leading luxury hotels, private members’ clubs and fine dining establishments. The Savoy, The Four Seasons, Browns, The Lanesborough, 5 Hertford Street, Park Chinois and Limewood Hotel all rely on Jalin Design for a bespoke service unlike any other.

More recently, a trip to Barbados made the duo realize just how much the Caribbean needs its own, carefully considered hotel uniforms, which led to the launch of Jalin Resort. Sandy Lane in Barbados was the first Caribbean hotel to look to Jalin Resort for its bespoke expertise, with The Palms and Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, and Peter Island in British Virgin Islands, soon following suit.

Jalin Design have also produced costumes for Hollywood. Our work can be seen in blockbusters such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, X-Men: First Class, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Les Misérables and Doctor Strange.

Working alongside the productions’ costume designers, we specialize in producing clothes for crowds, stunts and principal replicas. The attention to detail required to manufacturer such specifications as 18th century livery to mid-century tailoring, as well as pirate costumes to space-age gear, illustrates the craft and skill that the team put into the uniforms of the hotels that it caters to.

JASON + LINDY

Husband and wife duo, Jason Lurie and Lindy Kursten share a passion for design, interiors, architecture, food and art. Prior to the launch of Jalin Design, Jason was an interior designer and Lindy worked in production for several luxury fashion brands. An inherent love for the culture and people of the Caribbean, as well as frequent family trips, led them to launching Jalin Resort.
